Community-Driven Decisions

Your community. Your priorities. Your decisions.

Missouri is strongest when people can help shape the decisions that affect their families and communities. Community-driven decision-making means listening before choosing a solution, making information understandable, welcome different experience, and trusting people to decide what matters most.

No predetermined answer

We bring people together to learn and talk — not to hand them a predetermined answer. A useful community conversation makes room for questions, disagreements, and new ideas. It also gives people a clear way to carry what they learn into public participation.

A simple community process

  1. Listen: Ask residents what is working, what is not, and what they want decision-makers to understand.

  2. Learn: Share accurate, plain-language information and identify what is still unknown.

  3. Deliberate: Compare options, tradeoffs, and likely effects in respectful conversation.

  4. Decide and participate: Let people form their own views and choose how they will take part.
